Why the record comes first.
Every tool sold to dog trainers is a booking app, a payment app, or a facility app with a notes field bolted on. The actual work (the sessions, the criteria, the slow change in a dog’s behavior) lives in notebooks, spreadsheets, and memory. Trainote exists to fix that one thing.
The thesis
A trainer’s real asset is the record: what was worked, at what criteria, with what result, and what happened when something went wrong. Structure that record properly and everything downstream becomes automatic. The client report writes itself. Progress charts itself. The liability trail assembles itself. Continuity across trainers stops depending on hallway conversations.
So we built the record first and refused to build anything that competes with it for attention. One log, two views: the trainer writes once, and the client sees exactly what they should.
The name
Trainote, said “tray-note.” One word, one N: training plus note. The product’s whole thesis in nine letters. In a sentence, it works the way tools trainers love always do: “I keep everything in Trainote.”
The tagline
Proof of progress. Trainers proof behaviors against distraction. Reports prove results to owners. Records prove what happened if it ever matters legally. One phrase, all three jobs.
Built with working trainers
Trainote is being built session by session alongside certified professionals: CPDT-KA and KPA-CTP trainers and IAABC behavior consultants who log real cases and tell us, bluntly, what slows them down. We are recruiting a founding cohort of design partners now. If you want the tool shaped around your field days, this is the moment your opinion counts double.
- Free access for the full design-partner period
- Founding pricing locked for life afterward
- A direct line to the people building it, with weekly feedback shaping the roadmap
What we will not do
Where to find us
Trainote launches publicly at the APDT Annual Conference in Las Vegas, October 2026. Until then, the early access list is the front door, and hello@trainote.com reaches a human. We are @trainoteapp everywhere else.
