Every field earns its place.
Trainote is built from a single idea: the trainer writes one structured record, and everything else (the client report, the progress charts, the liability trail) is generated from it. See it, screen by screen.
The session record
Hold the button and speak. The note transcribes offline and structures itself into skills, criteria, and counted reps. Every behavior carries its distance, duration, and distraction level, and every session ends with exactly where to resume. If logging takes more than a minute, we treat it as a bug.
Reps, not adjectives. 8/10 against 4/10 at baseline is a fact you can chart and stand behind.
Progress that rolls up on its own
Because sessions are structured data, progress is automatic. A skill matrix charts every behavior over time, summaries build themselves from your tags and scores, milestones land with dates, and homework compliance becomes a trend line instead of a guess.
This is what free-text notes can never give you, and it is why the record comes first in everything we build.
The client report
Generated from your log the moment you publish, and pushed to the owner’s phone, not buried in tomorrow’s email. Wins first, plain words, photos that download in one tap, and homework the owner logs back with a single touch.
Their practice logs feed your compliance view, so you walk into the next session already knowing what happened at home. Owners who watch the line climb finish their packages.
The liability layer
Any growl, snap, or bite opens a formal incident report: timestamped, separate from session notes, in the ABC format behaviorists and insurers recognize. Safety flags follow the dog onto every screen. Waivers and consents carry signatures; vaccine records alert before they expire; every recommendation you make is logged with a date.
Classes, teams, and the business
Group classes
Rosters with per-dog attendance, and curriculum position for every enrollee: Week 3 of 6, Loose-leash. The level-two upsell depends on knowing exactly where each dog stands.
Two kinds of notes
Team-shared notes keep continuity across trainers. Trainer-private notes stay candid and are never shared with the client or the team by default.
Packages and credits
Sessions purchased, used, and remaining, with expiration alerts, visible to you and to the client in their portal.
Switching in, and out
Importers for the tools trainers leave behind, and honest full export any time. Your records are the moat; holding them hostage is not.
What we deliberately do not rebuild: payment processing and calendar plumbing. Bring your own Stripe and calendar. We never take a cut of your payments, and your identity in Trainote is the training record, not the invoice.
See it hold a real case.
