Records that hold up start with records that are safe.

Trainote asks trainers to trust it with their liability trail and their client relationships. That trust has to be structural. These are the commitments the product is built on, stated plainly, with nothing claimed that is not real.

Ownership and portability

Your data is yours

Every record you create belongs to you. Full export is available at any time, in usable formats, covering session logs, client profiles, media, incident reports, and signed documents. We earn retention with the product, never with lock-in.

Retention that protects you

Records are retained after a client departs, because your liability trail must outlive the client relationship. Clients can request copies of their own records, and you control what is shared beyond the standard report.

Private means private

Trainer-private notes are never visible to clients or teammates by default, and never appear in any generated report. The separation between the internal log and the client view is enforced by the data model, not by an on-off toggle you might miss.

Private note: owner tends to repeat the cue. Coach on one cue, then wait.

In Biscuit’s published report, this note does not exist. Not hidden. Absent.

Protection

Encryption

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Offline field logs are stored securely on your device until they sync.

Access controls

Role-based access for teams: staff see team-shared records and safety flags, and only the authoring trainer sees private notes. Clients see their own dog’s data and nothing else; group class reports are strictly per-dog.

Integrity

Sessions, incident reports, and communications entries carry timestamps. A record you may one day need to stand behind should show when it was written, and ours do.

Privacy

Said plainly

We are a young product and we will not decorate this page with compliance badges we have not earned. What we can promise today: encryption, enforced access separation, honest export, no data sales, and timestamped integrity on everything that matters legally. As Trainote grows, third-party security audits are on the roadmap, and this page will only ever state what is actually true. Questions deserve real answers: hello@trainote.com.

Trust is earned in the details.
